KEDCO MD/CEO Jimeta Pays Condolence Visit to Gumel Emirate

The Managing Director/CEO of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta, has paid a condolence visit to the Gumel Emirate following the demise of the 16th Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Sani II.

According to a statement by the Head of Corporate Communications, KEDCO, Sani Bala Sani, Dr. Jimeta, accompanied by members of the KEDCO management team, visited the Emirate to commiserate with the royal family, the Emirate Council, and the people of Gumel over the loss of the revered traditional ruler.

Sani said Dr. Jimeta described the late Emir as a respected traditional leader whose contributions to the development, peace, unity, and stability of his people during his 46-year reign would remain deeply remembered.

He added that the KEDCO MD/CEO expressed his sympathy to the late Emir’s family and the entire Gumel Emirate, noting that the death of a traditional ruler represents a significant loss not only to the immediate family but also to the wider community he served.

According to Sani, Dr. Jimeta also extended his condolences to the Chairman of the KEDCO Board, Engr. Adamu Ibrahim Gumel, a son of the Gumel Emirate and the Sarkin Yaki of Gumel.

Jimeta acknowledged the personal significance of the loss to the Board Chairman and his family, expressing solidarity with them during the difficult period.

Speaking during the visit, Jimeta said:

“On behalf of the Management and entire staff of Kano Electricity Distribution Company, I extend our deepest condolences to the royal family, the Emirate Council, and the good people of Gumel over the passing of His Highness, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Sani.

“His demise is a great loss, and we pray that Almighty Allah grants him eternal rest and gives the family and the people of Gumel the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”

The KEDCO chief also prayed for the continued peace, stability, and progress of the Gumel Emirate, urging the people to uphold the values of unity and peaceful coexistence for which the Emirate is known.

He further prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Emir, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
