Every KEDCO Staff Deserves to Return Home Safe Every Day; "No PPE, No Work," Says Jimeta

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Plc (KEDCO), Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta, has reaffirmed the Company's commitment to strengthening its health and safety culture to protect employees and customers from electricity-related accidents.

Dr. Jimeta made this known during the official flag-off of the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to frontline staff at the KEDCO Headquarters in Kano, reaffirming the Company's commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Jimeta stressed that the safety of staff and customers remains one of KEDCO's highest priorities.

The Managing Director declared a strict "No PPE, No Work" policy, directing that no employee should undertake any official duty without wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. He also cautioned staff against taking shortcuts that could compromise their safety.

According to Dr. Jimeta, the proper use of safety boots, helmets, reflective jackets, hand gloves, and other protective gear is essential in preventing workplace accidents and ensuring employees carry out their responsibilities safely and effectively.

He urged all staff to make safety a daily habit by strictly adhering to the Company's health and safety guidelines, noting that protecting lives is a shared responsibility and that every employee has a vital role to play in maintaining a safe working environment.

The distribution of PPE forms part of KEDCO's ongoing efforts to strengthen workplace safety by ensuring that employees are adequately equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
