The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has emerged as a national benchmark in Nigeria’s power sector following a remarkable transformation that continues to redefine performance standards in electricity distribution.
The company was honoured as Most Outstanding Electricity Distribution Company of the Year 2025/2026 by the Legislative Writers’ Forum, in recognition of its rapid operational turnaround, enhanced service delivery, and growing stakeholder confidence. The prestigious award was formally presented on 15 January 2026 to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta, whose visionary leadership has driven measurable improvements across critical performance indicators within a short period.
